Flip flops are a summertime staple, they are casual, care free and can be seen on feet every where! There are different types of flip flops, some are very thin and should only be worn on the beach or poolside and others are more substantial and can be worn with everything from sundresses to capri pants and shorts to even jeans. If you are looking for something with more pizzazz decorated flip flops are definitely an option. If you like to sparkle and shine when you walk there are decorated flip flops that have sequins on them and if you are into flowers there are flip flops that have silk flowers on them. These "designer" flip flops can vary in price, some boutiques will charge up wards of 50.00 or more for them. There are even designer flip flops that have interchangeable designs so you can always have a pair of flip flops that match what you are wearing without the hassle of owning several pairs. Simply decorated flip flops may only cost a few dollars more than plain ones. 

If you are a "do it yourself" type of person you can decorate your own flip flops any way you want to. Flip flops with thick straps always look great with a different colored ribbon glued on to them (make sure that you use either hot glue or glue that is used for clothing and will be able to withstand getting wet). You can also glue the types of flowers that you like on your flip flops, if you like large flowers, one large one either glued on the side of the strap or on the top in the middle would look very feminine, small flowers can be glued along the straps to cause the appearance that the straps are made from flowers. Rows of sequins can be glued on the straps or even around the base of the flip flop for a unique look!

When choosing a flip flop keep in mind the amount of time that you are going to be wearing them, and what they are made from, if you are going to wear them for more than just going to the pool or the beach you will want to choose a pair that are comfortable as well as durable with a thick sole, this will help protect your feet from the hot pavement and debris that could cause a foot injury.
